In Loving Memory
V.T. "Cowboy" Williams, Jr.
Born

Many miles have been traveled and much information has been gathered since my last website update in early 2006.
Two very important sources for my Dalton information have died, "Slim" Williams and Joe Vaughn. Virgil T. Williams is featured in Chapter One of "Chasing Rivers, Trains, and Jesse James", and the Joe Vaughn story is told in Chapter Six.
Though some of their information was held back for the second book of the Dalton/Jesse James trilogy, they both were able to see and read their personal and unique stories in my first book and heartedly approved that at last, someone was listening to them. I am fortunate to have many hours of photographed and recorded interviews with both men. They were kindly, honorable gentlement of the "old school" and very good friends much missed by this writer.
Frank Howard James, another of my sources and friend, died before the book was printed. His daughter Betty and I keep in close touch.
